Robolge Pahanma Upani Lenora (Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Galle), Sithupa Danithu
Nethmina Palihawadana (Royal College, Colombo), Sreemaathuri Sinthanaichselvan
(Ramanathan Hindu Ladies’ College, Colombo) and Vajra Neth Wijesooriya (Ananda College,
Colombo) won four bronze medals at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) held
from 21st to 30th July 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A total of 330 highly talented students from
90 countries participated in the IChO 2024. This is the fifth time Sri Lanka has participated in the
IChO. The dedicated committee members and the university lecturers merit recognition for their
efforts in training these talented students and equipping them for this highly competitive
examination. The COSL committee of the IChemC congratulates the winners of the IChO 2024
for bringing glory to the country.
