The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon annually organizes the Sri Lanka National Chemistry Olympiad (SLNChO) to recognize outstanding students in chemistry and select the top four to represent Sri Lanka at the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO).
The Preliminary Round of the Sri Lanka National Chemistry Olympiad 2025 was held on 25th January 2025, Islandwide in 8 examination centers. More than 300 candidates participated in the competition. Accordingly, the top 35 students were selected to take part in the Sri Lanka National Olympiad Examination. The list of finalists is given below.

The training sessions on advanced chemistry topics will be conducted followed by a theory examination for the selected finalists. Based on their performance, the top-performing students will advance to the next stage of the SLNChO.
